The Communications Department is staffed by highly trained and dedicated civilian employees who have committed themselves to a demanding career in Public Safety Dispatching.
The 9-1-1 Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by these selfless employees who, while we are home with our families, work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays to keep our communities safe.
Noblesville Communications Department proudly serves the more than 74,600 citizens of the City of Noblesville and the City of Westfield by providing emergency and non-emergency dispatching of Police, Fire and EMS services.
In addition to providing Dispatching service for the Police and Fire Department for Noblesville and Westfield , we serve as the emergency contact for Noblesville and Westfield Public Works Departments. We provide emergency notification to the public during severe weather and we are responsible for emergency paging and text notifications to emergency responders.
One event can change the activity level in the 9-1-1 Center. This was evident the morning of April 18, 2008 when Indiana felt the rumblings of an earthquake shortly after 5:35 a.m. In a fifteen minute time period from 5:45 a.m. until 6:00 a.m., Dispatchers answered 76 phone calls, 46 of which were 9-1-1 calls.
